Bad Elephant Music
Blimey ! Has it really been that long since update number 6 ? Did you miss us ? We have been busy with band things, as you will read about below, and with general messing about doing non-music related madness.
Those who were wise enough to pre-order the Shineback album have been receiving their copies in the post this week. Feedback from Moray Macdonald (keyboard player with Crimson Sky) is that “my ears have just shat themselves,” which we understand to be a full-on recommendation, and Robert Henderson says that is it “good”, which we know is a full-on recommendation !
The Shineback album is officially released on 1 July 2013 and you should not forget that the I Have Good Days, I Have Bad Days download track is only available if you pre-order it. It will not ever be available from any other legal sources once pre-orders close. You can pre-order the Shineback album from The Merch Desk at their website here, and it will more than likely come through your letterbox the next day, because Nellie is really that good.
The track Passengers is still available as a free download in case you want a taster before buying the full album.
You can get it here and it will not cost you a penny. You’re still very welcome. Please feel free to let us know what you think about it.
Do not forget that co-producer Tim Lawrie has put together an album teaser sampler for you on Soundcloud, which you can hear here.
We will bring you a separate blog with details of reviews of the album and appearances from Simon Godfrey.
The Fierce And The Dead
TFATD have had a baby ! Well, not the band, because that would be ludicrous, but Kev has had one. Well, not Kev, because that would be ludicrous (although it may well have made him a lot more money than the forthcoming album will…), but his lovely wife, Abbi. We send our congratulations to Kev, Abbi and little baby Harry, and look forward to a future collaboration between TFATD offspring.
Matt Stevens signed a contract with Esoteric Antenna for his solo work, and congratulations go out to him for that, which is very well deserved. He played as part of the label’s showcase with Sanguine Hum and Tin Spirits at The Borderline, and you can read my review of his set here.
And if you click here you can read the meaning behind this photo of me with Steven Wilson.
There was a curry and a contract signing and a blog.
That’s all for now – see you here next week !
