Week 9 and I need to rest my right knee…
This week’s blog is brought to you by God, because even He took a day to rest.
Monday 02 March 2015
So, this is pretty much a disaster. I cannot run on my right knee so I am going to rest it for this week to see if that helps. I do need to get it looked at, but, unfortunately, that is not going to happen until much later on this month.

There would still be no running today, although once again I ended up walking Debbie to and from her rehearsal, which was a mile and a quarter each way for me, four times. So that was a nice stretch for the legs, as well as being a nice walk with her, although I still felt an ache in the knee.

I am not very good at resting. I decided that a 40 minute easy run would be interesting to see how my knee was feeling after the rest of this week. The answer was that each mile got a minute slower until I finished up coming to a slow halt. Which was not good news.
- Run (St Albans) – 3.7 miles – 40 minutes 04 seconds

Debbie was doing a run towards her half-marathon later this month, and I decided to join her while wearing a knee support, because my run yesterday had, obviously, not shown me anything. I kept with Debbie for just over 3 miles but as she continued on to a turn around point I stopped, stretched out the knee, then ran some hill repeats until she came back. I rejoined her and made it back to the park, where she ran laps of the lake while I made my way to the other side of the lake, and then we made the way home, with a brief toilet stop at the gym. My knee had pretty much seized up by the time I got back. This run had not been my most clever idea ever.
- Run (St Albans) – 8 miles – 1 hour 54 minutes 26 seconds
Positives from this week – I am honestly struggling to find any.
